Born in Bognor Regis, Sussex and played early cricket for Middleton –on –Sea, Sussex Martlets and a few times for Duke of Norfolk’s XI. Moved to Shropshire in 1975 and played for Oswestry, a Shropshire League XI and OSCC. Has been, at one time or another Treasurer, Secretary, Chairman and President of Oswestry CC. Now the administrator for Shropshire Seniors and played many years for the 50+ and 60+. Taken part in a number of overseas tours with Shropshire Seniors including the West Indies, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Wales, usually without the current Mrs Clarke of 43 years. One of his son’s featured in an article by Gideon Haigh in The Cricketer about his time playing cricket in Melbourne. Partner in a firm of chartered accountants, Morris Cook. Claim to fame – whilst at school was introduced to and shook hands with SF Barnes.
