Started cricketing career in Lancashire in the mid 1960s and played in Nottinghamshire in the 80s. Moved to Oxfordshire in 1995 and since then has played for Oxford Downs. Joined the South Oxfordshire Amateurs and toured South Africa in 1997. Regular with Oxfordshire 50+ and 60+ and was selected to play for England over 60+ last season against Australia. Hard hitting batsman, some may say slogger! Is known for being blunt and sometimes stubborn like most Lancastrians! Now retired and enjoying being the Groundsman at Oxford Downs and playing more cricket. His claim to fame is that in the 70s he won the Stimerol six hit competition for the most sixes (47) in a league cricket season and the presentation was made by the Lancashire player Jack Simmons.
