Jim Phillips

KENT

Born and grew up in Kent, east of the River Medway (a Kentish man). Played for Medway Electricity CC for 3 entertaining years, then spent 18 years with Borstal CC as opening bat, 9 years as captain. Married Jill in 1996. Has been a carpenter all his working life. Enjoyed playing football, table tennis and darts, having played Super League darts. Played for Orpington CC for 4 years and the legendary Chatham Nomads and has now spent 20 years with Upchurch CC. Led them into the Kent League in 2004 after 3 consecutive promotions. Joined a very successful Kent 50+ team and played for 10 years and now for Kent 60+, privileged to be selected for England. Met one of his heroes when Alvin Kallicharran presented him with the Man of the Match award after a game against the celebrated Lashings All Stars.
