SHROPSHIRE (CAPTAIN)

Born in Lancashire and played junior cricket through the Lancashire youth system and in the Central Lancashire League against the likes of Garry Sobers and Joel Garner before moving to Shropshire in 1979. Is now President and Trustee of Shrewsbury Cricket Club having played for them for 30 years winning the National Club Championship in 1983. Captained Shropshire for 6 years until 1992 and played in Nat West victory against Yorkshire in 1984. Played previous ‘international’ matches for the League Cricket Conference against touring teams including Australia, Sri Lanka, India, Zimbabwe and a Rest of the World XI. Member of the MCC and Captained MCC v Ireland at Lords in 1997. Toured Australia with MCCC in 1991. Civil Engineer by profession, retired after 32 years in the water industry. Qualified coach, worked with England Women 1988-1993.
