The last 15 years have been the most enjoyable of a long career, firstly 50+ then 60+ as well as at club level and lastly for England. A steady all-rounder at good club level without ever quite making a Minor Counties breakthrough. Keeping fit and a switch from medium pace to off-spin 30 years ago has helped prolong his playing days. Gradually moved from a batsman who bowls to bowler who bats. Career highlight (to date!) was captaining England v Barbados at the 3Ws Oval in 2015 and taking the wicket of former West Indies star Collis King. Icing on the cake that day was being served tea and after match beers by Sir Garfield Sobers himself. It doesn’t get any better than that!
