My earliest cricket memory is when my father took me to the Oval in 1963 to see my hero, Garfield Sobers. Cricketing highlights include – making my debut for King Edwards School, Bath 1st XI , a mere 0 not out as we were all bowled out for 2! For Oxford University when I took the crease at 11-8, but managed 38 * to achieve some limited respectability! A treasured wicket – IVA Richards c Tavare b Botton 38. For Bath CC taking four wickets in the last three balls of a game to win by one run. But more importantly the many friends made, especially from the Monkton Combe Cavaliers. I taught History there, took early retirement five years ago, and intended to play more bridge but that is now on hold this year. This tour will be the icing on my already large cricket cake. Thank you!
