RYLAND WALLACE

Ryland Wallace

WALES

Born and brought up in Crickhowell, south Wales, where he still lives. Educated at Aberystwyth University, a former history teacher. A wicketkeeper and left hand batsman, played most of his cricket for Abergavenny CC but has now returned to his home club. After a decade representing Wales 50+, Ryland is the current captain of Wales 60+ – or the ‘Dinosaur Dragons’, as his seven year old grandson calls the team. Son, Mark, has played regular county cricket for Glamorgan since 2001. Claim to fame: was dismissed ‘timed out’ in a Three Counties League 1st XI match in 1984, playing for Abergavenny against Hatherley and Reddings CC – and has moved swiftly to the crease ever since!
